In short

A Personal Year 6 is the year your birth day, birth month and the current year reduce to 6; in 2026 that needs a day and month reducing to 5. It is the one personal year every corpus book that reads them ties to home and family, though they still differ on whether it brings marriage, separation or simply duties.

A Personal Year 6 is the sixth year of the nine-year count, after a Personal Year 5 and before a Personal Year 7. It is computed the same way as every other Personal Year. What sets the 6 apart in the corpus is not its arithmetic but its reception: along with the 1, which every book treats as a beginning, and the 7, which every book treats as inward, it is one of the years on which the books' readings come closest to agreeing. The general method is on the Personal Year number.

How a Personal Year 6 is calculated

The calendar method adds the birth day, birth month and current year, then reduces by repeated digit sums with masters collapsed, reading the date on your own clock. 2026 reduces to 1, so a 6 this year needs a birth day and month reducing to 5. The scratch script found 42 such birthdays in a 366-day calendar, starting 4 January, 13 January, 22 January, 31 January, 3 February and 12 February.

A 6 can also be the shadow of a master number: 33 reduces to 6, and this app keeps 33 in a Bhagyank or a name total. It never keeps it in a personal year, and in 2026 the question does not come up, because no total this year has a first digit sum above 17. The master number 33 page covers where the app does keep it. One of the book examples below reaches 6 through a 33 all the same, in the Vedic method.

That Vedic method is the second figure on the Personal Year calculator: the Mulank, plus the birth month, plus the last two digits of the year, plus the weekday number of that year's birthday, birthday to birthday.

Worked example: 4 January 1970, read on 13 October 2026

  1. Calendar method: 4 + 1 + 2026 = 2031. Digit sum 2 + 0 + 3 + 1 = 6. One step, and done: Personal Year 6.
  2. Personal Month for October: 6 + 10 = 16, then 1 + 6 = 7.
  3. Personal Day for the 13th: 7 + 13 = 20, then 2 + 0 = 2.
  4. Vedic method: Mulank 4, month 1, year term 26, and 4 January 2026 was a Sunday, worth 1. So 4 + 1 + 26 + 1 = 32, then 3 + 2 = 5. Valid from 4 January 2026 to 4 January 2027.

The calculator would show a 6 and a 5 covering almost the same months, since the birthday falls three days into the calendar year. The engine's line for the 6, from PERSONAL_YEAR_MEANING, is: "A responsibility year. Family, home and commitments take centre stage." The person's Bhagyank, incidentally, is the master number 22, kept as 22; it plays no part in the yearly figure.

The personal months of this 6 year run 7, 8, 9, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 from January to December, with April as the month 1 (6 + 4 = 10, then 1).

Two book examples that land on 6

  • Motivational Numerology (Sally Faubion) illustrates its method with a 6 June birthday in 2001: the month and day, 6 + 6 = 12, reduce to 3, and adding the Universal Year 3 gives a Personal Year 6 (Ch.8, p.131). Run for this page, the engine gives 6 for that birthday in 2001.
  • Advanced Vedic Numerology works its Vedic method for a birth on 1 April 1988 in 2022: 1 + 4 + 22 + 6, since 1 April 2022 was a Friday, makes 33, which it reduces to 6. The engine's personalYearVedic gives the same 6, for the window 1 April 2022 to 1 April 2023. Neither the book nor the engine keeps the 33.

What the books say about a Personal Year 6

  • Numerology Made Easy (William Mykian) opens the 6 with education and learning, balance and adjustment. As a year of domestic responsibility it lets you create beauty and harmony around you; you will be needed in many directions, so finish what you undertake; and it should be free of occupational and major financial problems (p.85-86). His summary calls it a year of balance, calm and harmony, to relax and enjoy the arts (p.81).
  • Motivational Numerology (Sally Faubion): a positive change in home, friendships and love relations. If single, this could be the year you meet a marriage partner; she calls it the perfect Personal Year for marriage, but also a year in which you might end a close relationship that is not working, add to the family, move house or make major purchases for the home. She calls 6 the number of humanitarianism and of caring for all things of the earth, so that even pets and plants fall under it (Ch.8, p.134-135).
  • Life With Number Magick (Rrachita Gupta): "Home and Family". An appreciation of the support system around you; the perfect year to get married or separated and start afresh; an excellent period to have a baby; helping others; altering the home or shifting residence (p.111). Keywords: love deeply, and work on relationships and family problems (p.113).
  • Advanced Vedic Numerology: time spent with family and on entertainment; marriage, engagement, family functions, parties and celebrations.
  • Numerology: Metaphysical Secrets (Erik Tao): familial ties, domestic responsibility and big decisions (Ch.8).

Gupta's second volume of course notes also uses a 6 when it reads two people's years together. Its case study is a couple born on 26 March 1992 and 17 September 1991: in 2020, it says, one is running a 6 and the other a 3, which it calls a harmonious year, while in 2021 the 7 and 4 that follow show a difference in energy (Life With Number Magick Part 2, p.180). Run for this page, the engine gives the same pairs: 6 and 3 for 2020, 7 and 4 for 2021. The arithmetic checks; the judgement that 6 and 3 suit each other is the book's.

Where the books agree, and where they do not

  • Agreement. All five books that read personal years put home and family at the centre of a 6, and so does the engine's one-liner. Only the 1, read by all of them as a beginning, and the 7, read by all of them as inward, draw as consistent a response.
  • Marriage or separation. Faubion and Gupta both name marriage and the end of a relationship in the same breath; Advanced Vedic Numerology lists only celebrations; Mykian mentions neither. A reading that promises one outcome is choosing between its own sources.
  • Money. Mykian expects the 6 to be free of major financial problems. The other books say nothing about money in a 6.
  • Learning. Only Mykian leads with education and learning.
  • Planet. None of the five assigns a planet to the 6 year. This app attaches Venus to the number 6 in NUMBER_TRAITS, and a Vedic year of 6 starts its Pratyantar periods from Venus.

How often a Personal Year 6 comes up

Read on 13 October 2026, the 16,802 birth dates from 1 January 1960 to 31 December 2005 included 1,932 in a calendar Personal Year 6 and 1,794 in a Vedic Personal Year 6; 276 were a 6 by both. Oliver Tan's Power of Numbers, "Numero"'s The Power of Numbers and the 233-page guide give no personal year to compare against, and Vedic Numerology Basic gives the formula without readings.

What a Personal Year 6 does not tell you

Agreement among the books is agreement about a theme, not evidence that anything happens: five books describing a 6 as a family year are five interpretations of the same sum. The figure is shared with everyone born on your day and month and ignores your birth year, birth time and name. The app's timing check labels 6 mixed. The number 6 in its fixed roles is covered on Number 6 in numerology, and the Numerology Profile sets the year beside your other numbers.

Does a Personal Year 6 mean marriage?
Faubion calls the 6 the perfect year for marriage, Gupta says it suits marriage or separation, and Mykian does not mention it. The engine makes no prediction from a personal year.
Can my Personal Year be 33?
No. Every cycle number in this app is reduced to 1-9, and in 2026 no total can even pass through 33. Advanced Vedic Numerology's own Vedic example reaches 33 and reduces it to 6, as the engine does.
Why does my Bhagyank keep 22 but my Personal Year cannot?
Different rules for different numbers. The Bhagyank keeps 11, 22 and 33; the personal year, month and day run 1 to 9, as the rules document sets out.
When does a Personal Year 6 end?
The calendar 6 ends at midnight on 31 December on your own clock, when it becomes a 7. The Vedic figure ends on your next birthday; for 4 January 1970 that is 4 January 2027. The Numerology feature shows the current year alongside the rest of your reading.
Which birthdays are in a 6 year in 2026?
Those whose day plus month reduces to 5: 4, 13, 22 and 31 January, 3 and 12 February, and so on. The scratch script counted 42 in a 366-day calendar.
