In short
Hidden numbers are two numbers that sit behind a birth date without appearing in it: one for the weekday of birth and one for the Sun sign. This app follows Advanced Vedic Numerology, which gives each weekday and each sign a ruling-planet number and places the sign changes on the 14th of each month.
What the term means
The hidden numbers are two digits read from facts about a birth date rather than from its written digits. The first is the number of the weekday you were born on; the second is the number of the Sun sign for your birth month and day. Neither changes the Mulank or Bhagyank; they are read beside them.
Where the term comes from
The term is from Advanced Vedic Numerology (PDF p.200-202), which says there are "two hidden number in our date of birth". It numbers the weekdays by their planets: Sunday 1, Monday 2, Tuesday 9, Wednesday 5, Thursday 3, Friday 6, Saturday 8. For the signs it uses its own table, with each sign beginning on the 14th of a month. The book is not fully consistent on Pisces: its bullet list gives "7 and 3", while its table and worked example use 7.
How this app computes it
- The weekday is taken from the calendar date of birth and mapped to the book's weekday numbers.
- The sign comes from the month and day on the book's 14th-to-13th table, not from the usual Western dates, and its number follows the book. Pisces is given 7, as in the book's table.
- The same calculator also returns three shadow numbers from the birth year and full date, a separate idea from the same book.
A small illustration
The book's example is 1 April 1988. The engine finds it was a Friday, giving 6, and places 1 April in the Pisces period, giving 7. The hidden numbers are 6 and 7, matching the book.
