In short
The Lo Shu planes are the three rows and three columns of the Lo Shu grid, each given a name such as the Mental plane (4-9-2) or the Will plane (9-5-1). This app marks a plane complete when the birth date contains all three of its digits and absent when it contains none. It does not read the two diagonal planes listed in Numerology Masters Notes.
What the term means
A plane is a line of three boxes in the Lo Shu grid, read as a group. The rows are 4-9-2, 3-5-7 and 8-1-6; the columns are 4-3-8, 9-5-1 and 2-7-6. A plane is reported only at the two extremes: complete, with every box filled, or absent, with every box empty. A plane with one or two of its digits is not reported either way.
Where the term comes from
Numerology Masters Notes (p.141-146) analyses the Lo Shu grid in eight planes: three horizontal, three vertical and two diagonal. The rows are the Mental, Emotional and Practical planes, which it likens to the head, the body and the feet; the columns are the Thought, Will and Action planes; the diagonals 4-5-6 and 2-5-8 are the Fortune or Golden plane and the Property or Silver plane. Metaphysical Secrets (Ch.5) also names physical, emotional and mental planes, but on its own differently numbered grid, where they belong to the arrows of Pythagoras.
How this app computes it
- Six planes are read: Mental 4-9-2 (thinking, planning and analysis), Emotional 3-5-7 (feeling, intuition and balance), Practical 8-1-6 (execution, order and follow-through), Thought 4-3-8 (ideas and mental discipline), Will 9-5-1 (determination and persistence) and Action 2-7-6 (doing and delivering).
- Complete means all three digits occur in the birth date at least once; absent means none do. How many times a digit repeats does not change the result.
- The two diagonal planes, Golden and Silver, are not computed. Their cells overlap the arrows of Pythagoras, which the engine reads separately on their own book's lines.
A small illustration
5 October 1987 contains 1, 5, 7, 8 and 9. The 9-5-1 column is full, so the engine returns the Will plane as complete, and no plane is empty. 11 March 1994 contains 1, 3, 4 and 9: no plane is complete, and 2-7-6 has none of its digits, so the Action plane is absent.

What it needs
Name and birth date
That is more than this article asks for - it only ever takes a date, and sometimes a time, and never a name or a birth place. So this one runs on its own page, which asks for exactly what it needs and stores none of it.
