In short
The Arrows of Pythagoras are eight lines of three digits, such as 1-5-9 or 7-8-9, read from the digits of a birth date. This app reports an arrow only when all three of its digits occur in the date, and shows both the positive and the negative reading the source gives for it, because the book offers no rule for choosing between them.
What the term means
An arrow is a straight line of three boxes in a three-by-three grid of the digits 1 to 9: three rows, three columns and two diagonals, eight in all. When the birth date fills every box on a line, that line is an arrow. Because the test is only whether each digit is present, it can be run on the same digit counts as the Lo Shu grid, whatever the layout.
Where the term comes from
The arrows this app uses come from Metaphysical Secrets (Ch.5), which also calls them "Full Number Lines or Full Number Planes". Its grid runs 1, 4, 7 along the bottom, 2, 5, 8 across the middle and 3, 6, 9 on top. It names eight positive arrows, Planner (1-2-3), Willpower (4-5-6), Activity (7-8-9), Determination (1-5-9), Practicality (1-4-7), Emotions (2-5-8), Intellect (3-6-9) and Compassion (3-5-7), and seven negative ones on the same cells. Numerology Masters Notes (p.147-151) draws arrows on the Lo Shu layout instead and names them differently: there 2-5-8 is Determination and 4-3-8 the Planner. The two books do not agree on which line means what.
How this app computes it
- The engine takes the Lo Shu digit counts and tests each of the eight Metaphysical Secrets lines. A line is an arrow when all three of its digits appear at least once.
- For seven lines the book gives a positive and a negative reading for the very same cells, with no rule for picking one, so the engine returns both side by side. Planner (1-2-3) has only a positive reading.
- Empty lines are not reported as arrows. Missing digits are handled separately, as missing numbers and absent Lo Shu planes.
A small illustration
5 October 1987 gives the digits 5, 1, 0, 1, 9, 8 and 7, so 1, 5, 7, 8 and 9 are present. Two lines are complete. The engine returns 7-8-9 (Activity, with Inactivity as its negative) and 1-5-9 (Determination, with Resignation). No other line has all three digits.

What it needs
Name and birth date
That is more than this article asks for - it only ever takes a date, and sometimes a time, and never a name or a birth place. So this one runs on its own page, which asks for exactly what it needs and stores none of it.
