In short
A compound number is a total of two or more digits, read as it stands before it is reduced to a single digit. This app attaches a compound reading, from Numerology Made Easy's list for 10 to 54, to two totals: the unreduced Life Path and the Goal Power total. Totals outside 10 to 54 get no compound reading.
What the term means
Most numerology readings use the single digit at the end of a digit sum. A compound number is the total before that last step: 28 rather than 1, 47 rather than 11. The idea behind it is that two totals with the same root, say 12 and 21 (both reduce to 3), are not read the same way.
Where the term comes from
Numerology Made Easy uses "compound number" for any total of two or more digits (Ch.2) and gives a whole chapter to reading them (Ch.10, p.94-121), from 10 "through the number 54". It is firm that no number is negative "per se". The AIFAS course notes (p.38) use the term more narrowly, for the unreduced Chaldean total of a name and of a surname: ARJUN GUPTA gives compound numbers 15 and 22 and a name number of 37, then 10, then 1. Metaphysical Secrets (Ch.2) says the single digit shows how others see you and the compound shows hidden influences. The books agree that a compound is the unreduced total; they differ on which totals to read.
How this app computes it
- The unreduced Life Path total is looked up in Numerology Made Easy's list. If it lies between 10 and 54 the reading is attached; otherwise there is none.
- The Goal Power total, the reduced Life Path plus the Chaldean name number, gets the same lookup.
- The whole-name total on the Pythagorean table is returned as a compound total, but no reading is attached to it, and the course notes' per-name compounds are not computed.
- A compound reading never replaces the single digit or a master number; it is shown beside them, quoted as the book's text.
A small illustration
For a birth on 11 March 1994 the date digits add to 28, so the Life Path is 1 and the compound is 28, which falls in range; the engine attaches the book's reading for 28. A total of 9 or of 55 returns nothing. For the name "Aarav Kapoor" the Pythagorean compound total is 47, returned without a reading.

What it needs
Name and birth date
That is more than this article asks for - it only ever takes a date, and sometimes a time, and never a name or a birth place. So this one runs on its own page, which asks for exactly what it needs and stores none of it.
