Jupiter transit in Gemini: the dates, and the house it falls in for each Moon sign

Gemini (Mithuna) is the airy, dual sign ruled by Mercury, and it sits opposite Sagittarius, one of Jupiter's own signs. When transiting Jupiter is in Gemini it is therefore as far as it gets from its own Sagittarius. This page lists the dates of that transit as this app computes them, and reads it from each Moon sign with the engine's rule. None of this predicts an event. It gives positions and a named rule; the Gochar calculator applies the rule to your own Moon sign on any date.

Dates: when Jupiter is in Gemini

Every stay that begins between 1990 and 2050 is listed. A Gemini stay already under way when 1990 began (Jupiter left Gemini for Cancer on 20 July 1990) is outside the window and not shown.

Gemini has more rows than any sign so far because Jupiter's retrograde loops keep landing on its boundaries. The 2025-26 passage is the one most readers will look up. Jupiter entered Gemini on 14 May 2025, moved on quickly and was in Cancer by 18 October 2025, then turned retrograde and came back into Gemini on 5 December 2025 before leaving for good on 1 June 2026. So "Jupiter in Gemini, 2025-26" really means two stretches, with 18 October to 5 December 2025 counted as Cancer.

The 2036-38 passage is even more broken: a ten-week stay from Taurus in late 2036, the main stay from 26 April to 16 September 2037, and a last return from 17 January to 11 May 2038. Near any of these dates, use the calculator's degree-in-sign and its vakri (retrograde) flag; its "about 365 days" figure is an average label and does not describe a passage like this.

Counted from your Moon: the house Gemini is for each sign

For Gochara the count starts at the natal Moon sign. Jupiter is read with the benefic rule: 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th favourable; 11th favourable for every planet; 3rd and 6th indifferent; 1st, 4th, 8th and 12th testing.

Two rows are worth a second look. For a Sagittarius Moon, Gemini is the 7th: Jupiter, the lord of that Moon sign, is directly opposite it, and the engine reads the 7th as favourable. For a Pisces Moon - the other sign Jupiter rules - Gemini is the 4th, which the engine marks testing. Same planet, two signs it owns, opposite verdicts, because only the house count enters the rule. The split passages matter most for signs where Gemini and Cancer get different verdicts. For a Leo Moon, Gemini is the 11th (favourable) and Cancer the 12th (testing), so the verdict changed on 18 October 2025, changed back on 5 December 2025 and changed again on 1 June 2026. For a Taurus Moon, Gemini (2nd) and Cancer (3rd) give favourable and indifferent.

What the classical texts say

BPHS and Saravali in this library have no reading for Jupiter transiting Gemini. Advanced Predictive Astrology Vol. II ("Research on Transits", pp. 310-311) reports the general rules that apply here:

• Jupiter "gives good results in 2/5/7/9/11th" from the Moon - for Gemini, Taurus, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Libra and Leo Moons. The engine agrees on all of these and adds the 10th (Virgo); the book does not list the 10th.
• Jupiter over the Moon sign is "said to induct a sense of fear and anxiety": the Gemini Moon's case.
• Jyotish-Tattvam (Vol. I, Ch. X, Vs. 25-26), quoted there, links Jupiter's transit of the 5th with the birth of a child: an Aquarius Moon here.
• A Tamil palm-leaf reading lists Jupiter in the 3rd from the Moon among positions that "will produce intensified" results: an Aries Moon here, which the calculator flags.
• Transit Jupiter opposite its own natal position is described as "not indicative of good results". Anyone born with Jupiter in Sagittarius has that opposition while Jupiter crosses Gemini - a natal-Jupiter rule, separate from the Moon count.

The sign itself: Mercury's airy sign

BPHS Ch. 4 Sl. 9 describes Mithun as rising with its head and as a male and a female "holding a mace and lute"; it is airy, biped and ruled by Budh. The engine's relationship table treats Mercury as an enemy of Jupiter, so Jupiter in Gemini is labelled as in an enemy sign across all 30 degrees. On the way through, Jupiter crosses the last two padas of Mrigashira, all of Ardra, and the first three padas of Punarvasu - a nakshatra that continues into Cancer, where Jupiter is exalted. Worked example: an Aquarius Moon through 2024-26

Take a natal Moon in Aquarius. Gemini is the 5th sign from it. From the dates above and the neighbouring sign runs:

1. 1.1 May 2024 to 14 May 2025: Jupiter in Taurus, the 4th - "testing".
2. 2.14 May 2025 to 18 October 2025: Jupiter in Gemini, the 5th - "favourable", and the house Jyotish-Tattvam links to children.
3. 3.18 October 2025 to 5 December 2025: Jupiter in Cancer, the 6th - "neutral".
4. 4.5 December 2025 to 1 June 2026: back in Gemini, the 5th - "favourable" again.
5. 5.1 June 2026 to 30 October 2026: Cancer, the 6th - "neutral".
6. 6.From 30 October 2026 (23:53 UTC, already 31 October in India): Leo, the 7th - "favourable".

For this Moon the Gemini passage is the favourable stretch between a testing Taurus year and an indifferent Cancer stay, with the Cancer interlude cutting it in two. That is what the rule says and all it says. The transit is classically read together with the running period, such as the Jupiter Mahadasha, and the Gochar calculator gives the verdict for any single date.

In this app's computation it first left on 18 October 2025, came back by retrograde motion on 5 December 2025, and left for good on 1 June 2026 (UTC).

When is Jupiter next in Gemini?

From 9 September 2036 to 17 November 2036 (a short stay from Taurus), then from 26 April 2037 to 16 September 2037 and from 17 January 2038 to 11 May 2038.

Is Jupiter in Gemini good for my Moon sign?

The engine reads it as favourable for Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius Moons, testing for Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, and neutral for Aries and Capricorn. Check yours in the Gochar calculator.

Does the Cancer interlude of October-December 2025 count as Jupiter in Gemini?

No. From 18 October to 5 December 2025 Jupiter was in Cancer, so the house count for those seven weeks is taken from Cancer. For most Moon signs that changes the verdict for that stretch; the table on the Jupiter transit in Cancer page gives the Cancer verdicts. The Gemini reading resumes on 5 December 2025.

Is Jupiter weak in Gemini?

The engine labels it an enemy sign, because Mercury rules Gemini. It is not debilitated (that is Capricorn). The Gochara verdict does not use dignity at all.
