Planet in house

What the classical sources say about Rahu in the 12th house, read directly from the books: the shared Bhrigu sutra, Phaldeepika and Chamatkar Chintamani on Rahu, BPHS on the 12th-house chapter and the Rahu Dasha and sub-periods, the travel-abroad thread in Chatterjee, and how this app reads the placement.

The 12th is the house of expense, loss and distance, and one of the two houses BPHS names for a troubled Rahu Dasha. It is also the house most often linked to Rahu and foreign travel, a link the books support only in a narrower form than it is usually given. Rahu, the Moon's ascending node, owns no sign and has no dignity in this app, so it is read through the house, its company and the lord of its sign. For the node, see Rahu in Vedic astrology; for the house, the 12th house (Vyaya Bhava); for the other node in the same house, Ketu in the 12th house.

Where these citations come from

Every classical line on this page was checked against the text of the books themselves: the Bhrigu Sutras (Part II Ch. 8, p. 114, and its Comments, pp. 114-115), Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS), Saravali, S. S. Chatterjee's Advanced Predictive Astrology Vol. II, and Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara. Phaldeepika and Chamatkar Chintamani are not available separately; their lines are cited as the Bhrigu Sutras quote them. The afterlife lines are named, not reproduced, and remedies printed in BPHS are left out.

The house Rahu occupies here

BPHS defines the 12th in half a sloka. Ch. 11 Sl. 13: from Vyaya Bhava one knows "expenses, history of enemies, one's own death etc." Foreign lands, sleep and spirituality are not in that definition; they come from Ch. 23 and from later lists. Saravali, which gives most houses two names, gives this one only Vyaya (Ch. 3 Sl. 26-27). Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara's list of Parashara's significations (pp. 116-117) adds emancipation to expenses, enemies' history and one's own death, which is how the liberation theme enters the modern reading of the house.

The 12th is a trika or dusthana with the 6th and 8th, and an apoklima, a cadent house. BPHS Ch. 32 Sl. 35-37 state the working rule plainly: "Association with Trikas will inflict evils", while kendras and konas turn "even evil into auspiciousness". Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara gives the same groupings. Rahu is in the malefic list of BPHS Ch. 3 Sl. 11, and Sl. 30 describes him as smoky, windy and intelligent, with Ketu "akin to Rahu". So in the 12th a natural malefic sits in a malefic house, and none of the general rules that soften a malefic in a kendra or kona reaches it.

BPHS Ch. 34 Sl. 16 gives the node rule: Rahu and Ketu give "predominantly" the effects due to their yuti with a Bhava lord, or due to the Bhava they occupy. Sl. 17 makes a node in a kendra a Yoga Karaka when a kona or kendra lord joins or aspects it. The 12th is not a kendra, so that door is closed here.

The Bhrigu sutra, read in full

The Bhrigu Sutras give Rahu and Ketu one block for each house. The translator says so at the head of Part II Ch. 8 (p. 109): the author gives the same effects for both nodes, presumably because they are always in the seventh from each other, while the other authorities give separate effects. The 12th-house block (p. 114) is headed "Rahu or Ketu in the Twelfth House", and its Sutras 31-32 make three statements: few children, eye troubles, and a verdict about the state after death. The last is the text's, not this app's; it is named here and not applied.

None of the three is about the house's own subject in BPHS, expense. Children belong to the 5th, and the eye is the classical body part the books give to the 12th. The eye association is reported as what the text says, not as medical advice. Because the sutra is shared, everything in this section applies word for word to a Ketu in the 12th as well.

The other views: Rahu's own lines

Under the same heading the Bhrigu Sutras print "Other Views", and these are separate for each node. Both texts quoted there are only available through this quotation; Phaladeepika (spelled Phaldeepika in this edition) is not in the corpus on its own.

Phaldeepika, as quoted in the Bhrigu Sutras (p. 114)"Wasteful expenditure" and sinful deedsSins committed secretly, expenditure for evil purposes, eye troubles

Saravali Ch. 30No verse for either nodeNo verse
Bhrigu Sutras Part II Ch. 8, p. 114 (bhrigu-sutras.txt lines 4512-4523), paraphrased; quoted phrases are the edition's. Saravali Ch. 30 searched for both nodes.

Phaldeepika's Rahu line has two halves, wasteful spending and sinful deeds; Chamatkar Chintamani's has three, poverty, failed undertakings and the company kept. Read together, the two Rahu lines agree on the direction, and both are about the house's own subject, outflow, which fits Ch. 11 Sl. 13.

The Ketu column is the instructive part. Chamatkar Chintamani gives the same house to the other node and reads it almost as a royal placement, with spending on charities. Only one text in the set, then, splits the nodes sharply in the 12th, and it puts Rahu on the harder side. That is a difference between two authors' lines, not a rule the Bhrigu Sutras make; the sutra itself does not tell the nodes apart.

What Saravali does and does not say

The Bhrigu Sutras note under the 1st house that Brihat Jatak and Saravali "have not dealt with" the nodes in the houses, and the corpus text bears that out: Saravali Ch. 30, on the grahas in the bhavas, has no verse for Rahu or Ketu. Its one Rahu-by-house rule is in Ch. 12, on evils cancelled at birth: Rahu in the 3rd, 6th or 11th from the Ascendant, aspected by benefics, destroys evils (Sl. 3-5), and Rahu rising in Aries, Taurus or Cancer protects (Sl. 10-11). The 12th is not in either list. With Rahu in the 12th, it is Ketu that sits in the 6th, and the sloka names Rahu, not Ketu. This page does not fill the gap.

BPHS on the 12th house: what Ch. 23 actually says

  • Sl. 1-4: expenses "on good accounts" if the 12th lord is with a benefic, in its own house or exalted, or if a benefic occupies the 12th. Rahu is not a benefic, so the last clause cannot be met by Rahu.
  • Sl. 5-6: troubled by expenses and without general happiness if the 12th lord is in the 6th or 8th, or in an enemy's or debilitation Navamsa.
  • Sl. 8: grahas in the visible half of the zodiac give explicit results, those in the invisible half secret ones. The sloka does not say which houses form which half, and this page does not supply it.
  • Sl. 9-10: two slokas on the afterlife. Sl. 9 names Rahu in the 12th together with Mars, Saturn and the Sun, a four-graha combination, not Rahu alone. Sl. 10 is about a benefic in the 12th. Named only; the app applies neither.
  • Sl. 11-12: wandering "from country to country" with malefics on the 12th and its lord; moving "in his own country" with benefics in the same positions.
  • Sl. 13: earnings "through sinful measures" if Saturn or Mars "etc." occupy the 12th without a benefic's aspect. The translation does not say whether Rahu is among the "etc.", and this page does not assume it.
  • Sl. 14: expenses on religious grounds if the Lagna lord is in the 12th and the 12th lord is in the Lagna with Venus.

Rahu and travel abroad: what the texts actually say

The idea that Rahu in the 12th means a life abroad is common. The books support a narrower version, and almost all of it comes from one modern author. Chatterjee (Vol. II, p. 88) quotes Jataka Chintamani: "If Rahu is in the 1st/7th/12th, the native goes abroad." That is one classical text quoted by one modern author. On p. 91 he gives timing rules: the Vimshottari Dasha of the 12th lord or of Rahu, or sub-periods of planets associated with them, produce foreign journeys (rule 1), and "The dasa of the planet whose 10th house is occupied by Rahu, can generate foreign travel" (rule 2).

Rule 2 has a precise consequence for this house. Rahu in the 12th is the 10th from any planet in the 3rd house of the chart. So under Chatterjee's rule the Dashas of the planets in the 3rd are the ones to check for travel when Rahu is in the 12th. His own case on p. 98 uses exactly this: a woman whose Rahu is in her 12th, which he glosses as the "house of new environment", travels abroad on marriage in Jupiter-Rahu, and he attributes it to Rahu sitting in the 10th from her exalted Jupiter. One case is an illustration, not evidence.

BPHS Ch. 23 approaches travel differently. In Sl. 11 a person will wander from country to country if the 12th lord and the 12th house are with malefics and the lord exchanges aspects with malefics; in Sl. 12, with benefics in the same positions, the person moves in his own country. The text treats distance as displacement, not as opportunity. Rahu is a malefic, so Rahu in the 12th supplies one part of the malefic condition; the rest concerns the 12th lord. Chatterjee's own observation on p. 101, from his cases, runs in the same direction: a 12th lord in a movable sign and heavily afflicted, in his example by Ketu, Rahu, Saturn and Mars, goes with leaving the birthplace for good. He presents that as his observation, and it is about the 12th lord, not Rahu in the 12th.

The app's own favourable line for the house, "success through foreign lands or work behind the scenes when well supported", follows the modern reading, and BPHS Ch. 47's mention of wealth through a foreign government for a well-placed Rahu. As described below, it is never printed for the 12th.

Rahu speaks for others: the agent rule applied to the 12th

The Comments that close the Bhrigu Sutras chapter (pp. 114-115) report "a strong school of thought" that the nodes own no sign. On that view Rahu acts as agent of the planet it is conjoined with; if none, of the planet that aspects it; only when neither does it represent the lord of the house it occupies. BPHS Ch. 34 Sl. 16 gives the shorter form: the lord it joins, or the house it is in.

  • A planet with Rahu in the 12th comes first. Chatterjee's list on p. 124 adds a warning for exactly this case, from The Times of Astrology: the Dasha of the planet with Rahu in the 12th "is not helpful", bringing disappointments and obstacles by its power and the transits of the time. His aphorism 13 says more generally that a planet in close company of a node gives poor results in its Dasha, the closer the worse.
  • Failing a conjunction, a planet aspecting Rahu. In this app's aspect rules that is any graha in the 6th, beside Ketu; Mars in the 9th or 5th house (its 4th and 8th aspects land on the 12th from there); Jupiter in the 4th or 8th; Saturn in the 10th or 3rd. A benefic aspect here is also the release in BPHS Ch. 44, below.
  • Failing both, the 12th lord, the lord of Rahu's sign, which Ch. 23 tests in nearly every sloka. A 12th lord with a benefic, in its own sign or exalted is the good case of Sl. 1-4; in the 6th or 8th, the troubled case of Sl. 5-6. BPHS Ch. 48 Sl. 14-17 add that the Dasha of a 6th, 8th or 12th lord becomes favourable when associated with the lord of a trikona.

Uttara Kalamrita, as the Bhrigu Sutras summarise it, sets the conditions under which the nodes turn auspicious: in a trikona or kendra, when associated with the lord of the kendra or kona they occupy, or when conjoined with any kendra or kona lord (point 3). The 12th meets the first condition never, the second never, and the third only through a conjunction. A Rahu in the 12th joined by a kendra or kona lord is the one route that text leaves open. Its point 1, that a node "endowed with strength" gives effects like the lord of the house it occupies or the planet it joins, is printed in a garbled form in this edition, and this page relies only on its plain part.

Which sign the 12th is, and what each text attaches

In whole-sign houses the 12th is the sign before the Lagna. The dignity schemes disagree, and this app applies none of them, but the books attach these labels to the sign Rahu falls in:

Two notes on the table. BPHS Ch. 47 Sl. 34-39 gives its best Rahu Dasha to an exalted Rahu, and then a list of good houses, the 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 3rd, that leaves out the 12th. So a Rahu exalted in Taurus, for a Gemini Lagna, meets the dignity half of that sloka and not the house half. And Sl. 40-43, which follow directly, name the 12th for trouble without any sign exception. The text does not say which clause wins.

Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara disagrees with BPHS on the own sign (Capricorn, not Aquarius), on the debilitation (Scorpio and Sagittarius) and on the aspects: it gives Rahu the 3rd, 7th and 10th. From the 12th those land on the 2nd, 6th and 9th houses. This app follows BPHS Ch. 26 Sl. 2-5, which name special aspects only for Saturn, Jupiter and Mars, so it gives Rahu the 7th alone, on the 6th. The book's rule 10 (p. 142) states the same agent principle as the Bhrigu Sutras: the nodes give results by position, association and the lords of the houses they occupy.

The Rahu Dasha from the 12th: BPHS Ch. 44, 47 and 48

  • Ch. 47 Sl. 5-6, the general test: a Dasha lord in the 6th, 8th or 12th gives unfavourable results. Rahu in the 12th fails it.
  • Ch. 47 Sl. 40-43, the Rahu rule: in the 8th or 12th, "all kinds of troubles and distress" in the Dasha. A Rahu also associated with a malefic or a Maraka, or debilitated, adds loss of position and residence, mental agony and trouble to the family. The shape of the period: loss of wealth at the start, some relief and gain of wealth "in his own country" in the middle, distress at the end.
  • Ch. 44 Sl. 22-24: Rahu in the 6th, 8th or 12th gives difficulties in its Dasha, but not if a benefic aspects or joins it. The same slokas put the nodes in the 1st, 7th, 8th or 12th on the Maraka list, and make Rahu a Maraka for Capricorn and Scorpio rising. This page names the label only; the app computes no lifespan.
  • Ch. 48 Sl. 18-20: the favourable bracket for the nodes covers the 3rd, 6th and 11th only. The 12th is not in it.

BPHS Ch. 47 Sl. 3-4 separately place results by the third of the sign the Dasha lord occupies, and reverse the order for the nodes, "who are always retrograde": a Rahu in the first ten degrees of its sign gives its results at the end of the period, one in the last ten at the start. The text does not say how this combines with the start-middle-end shape of Sl. 40-43. Dates come from the Vimshottari Dasha calculator; the sub-periods are on the Rahu Mahadasha page.

Rahu sub-periods that name the 12th

The Antardasha chapters (Ch. 52-60) give a condition for Rahu's sub-period inside each Mahadasha. Many count the 8th and 12th from the Mahadasha lord, not from the Lagna, which is a different test. The table keeps the two apart. The text adds remedial measures to most of these slokas; this app does not prescribe them.

BPHS Antardasha chapters, read in bphs.txt. The Saturn chapter (Ch. 57 Sl. 63-64) makes Rahu's sub-period adverse unless Rahu is exalted or otherwise well placed, without naming the 12th.

The pattern across these chapters is consistent: the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th are the good houses for a Rahu sub-period, the 2nd and 7th bring physical distress, and the 8th and 12th are adverse. Where the house is named without a reference point, as in Rahu's own sub-period (Ch. 55 Sl. 5-6), the plain reading is from the Lagna, so a Rahu in the 12th meets it in the first sub-period of its own Mahadasha. The Ketu Mahadasha line adds a malefic as a condition, so a Rahu alone in the 12th does not meet that one.

Chatterjee's aphorisms for this house

Chatterjee's list "Determination of good time and bad time" (Vol. II, pp. 121-125) is one modern author collecting rules from several sources, and it should be read as that. The items that touch a Rahu in the 12th:

  • Aphorism 8 (p. 121): Rahu in the 3rd, 6th or 11th from the Lagna or the Moon brings material wealth in its periods, more so with a benefic or kendra lord aspecting it. The 12th from the Lagna is not in it, but the Moon count can be.
  • Aphorism 14 (p. 124): Rahu in the 6th, 8th or 12th aspected by those houses' lords gives a very adverse Dasha; R. Santhanam is quoted that "Rahu in 8/12th is a liability".
  • Aphorism 22 (p. 124): nodes in the 6th, 8th or 12th from their own dispositors give very bad results. This is counted from the lord of Rahu's sign, not from the Lagna.
  • A case on p. 127 repeats Santhanam's line and reports that the native's Rahu Dasha "did not generate any significant events", the most eventful period being Jupiter's. That is a quiet period, not a disastrous one.

One more line uses the 12th in a different count. On p. 30 Chatterjee reads Gandhi's chart and says Rahu "in the 12th house of Moon ... energises a man for gigantic purposes". That is the 12th from the Moon, not from the Lagna, and it is one author's reading of one chart. It is reported here because it is the only line in the corpus that gives a 12th-placed Rahu a positive force, and its count is different.

Ketu in the 6th and the single aspect

This app gives Rahu the 7th aspect only, following BPHS Ch. 26 Sl. 2-5. From the 12th it lands on the 6th, where Ketu always is: both nodes in dusthanas. The 6th-house side is on Ketu in the 6th house, and the reverse arrangement on Rahu in the 6th house, which the sources mostly read well: BPHS Ch. 48 brackets the 6th among the nodes' favourable houses and Saravali Ch. 12 names Rahu in the 6th. Both nodes count as malefics, so a graha in the 6th or 12th is aspected by both, which lowers its aspect score in the Shad Bala calculator and rules a benefic there out of Adhi and Amala Yoga in the yogas calculator.

Ketu in the 6th has its own Dasha condition. BPHS Ch. 47 Sl. 72-77 put Ketu in the 3rd, 6th or 11th among its best houses, so on the same axis the Ketu period starts from a better house than the Rahu period. Saravali Ch. 12 names neither node for the 12th.

How this app reads Rahu in the 12th

The engine returns Neutral for Rahu's dignity in every sign and treats the 12th as a dusthana. On the Kundali page Rahu in the 12th gets the testing line, "real financial strain and restlessness under affliction", which is close to Phaldeepika and Chamatkar Chintamani. The Mahadasha line applies BPHS Ch. 47 Sl. 5-6, which put the 6th, 8th and 12th on the unfavourable side, so it reads testing, and the quality label reads challenging. Here the app and the sources agree; what the app does not apply is Ch. 44's benefic release, the agent rule, or any sign label. Career and Money adds Rahu to its risk-appetite reading at a fixed weight for the 12th.

In transit the Gochar calculator counts from the natal Moon and marks the 1st, 8th and 12th from the Moon as testing for the malefics, so transiting Rahu in the 12th from the Moon is shown as testing. That is the Moon count, not the natal house. Chatterjee's transit chapter (pp. 317-318), one modern author's view, counts Rahu good in transit through the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th from the Moon, Sun or Ascendant; the 12th is not among them.

A worked chart

We ran the engine for 10 March 1995, 00:00 IST, New Delhi, an illustrative birth, not a real person. Scorpio rises at 8.19 degrees, so Libra is the 12th. Rahu is at 14.39 Libra in Swati pada 3, in the 12th house; Ketu is in Aries in the 6th. Rahu's dispositor Venus, lord of the 7th and 12th for Scorpio rising, is at 14.28 Capricorn in the 3rd, with Mercury. Mars, the Lagna lord, is in Cancer in the 9th, retrograde and debilitated, and aspects the 12th by its special 4th aspect. Jupiter is on the Lagna in Scorpio, the Sun and Saturn (own sign, combust) are in Aquarius in the 4th, and the Moon is exalted in Taurus in the 7th. Run again on 9 October 2026 on the current engine, every figure matched the earlier run.

  • Placement line: Neutral, favourable false, the 12th-house testing sentence.
  • Mahadasha line: testing; quality challenging.
  • Dates: a Mars balance to 22 May 1999, then Rahu's Mahadasha to 21 May 2017; Mercury's from 21 May 2052 to 21 May 2069; Venus's from 20 May 2076.
  • Career and Money: Rahu on the money axis, at the fixed weight. Kaal Sarp: not present.

Checked by hand against the rules above. No planet joins Rahu, so by the agent rule it speaks for the planet aspecting it, Mars, lord of the Lagna and the 6th, itself weak by sign. No benefic joins or aspects Rahu: Jupiter on the Lagna aspects the 5th, 7th and 9th, not the 12th, so Ch. 44's release is not met. The 12th lord Venus is in the 3rd, neither in the 6th nor 8th (Sl. 5-6), and shares the 3rd with Mercury, a benefic, which is Sl. 1-4's first good condition for spending on good accounts. Counted from Venus, Rahu is the 10th, so Chatterjee's aphorism 22 (nodes 6, 8 or 12 from the dispositor) is not met either.

Ch. 23 Sl. 11-12 are mixed, a useful lesson in how many parts one sloka has. The 12th holds a malefic, Rahu, and takes a malefic aspect from Mars. Venus in Capricorn and Mars in Cancer are seven signs apart, so the 12th lord exchanges aspects with a malefic. But Venus is joined by Mercury, a benefic, so the lord is not simply "with malefics". The wandering reading is half met and half countered, and the text gives no rule for weighing the halves.

The travel rules point at a later decade. Venus and Mercury in the 3rd have Rahu in the 10th from them, so under Chatterjee's rule 2 (p. 91) their Dashas, Mercury's from 2052 and Venus's from 2076, are the ones his method flags for foreign travel, along with Rahu's own and the 12th lord's. The Rahu Mahadasha itself meets Ch. 47 Sl. 40-43 and Ch. 44's difficulty clause, and its first sub-period meets Ch. 55 Sl. 5-6. For Scorpio rising Ch. 44 also gives Rahu the Maraka label, named here only. Rahu at 14.39 is in the middle third of Libra, which the reversed order of Ch. 47 Sl. 3-4 leaves in the middle of the period.

One count runs the other way. From the Moon in Taurus, Rahu in Libra is the 6th, one of the houses Chatterjee's aphorism 8 counts from the Moon as well as the Lagna for material gains in Rahu's periods. The two counts disagree in this chart. Overall this is the harder side of the Dasha conditions, with one benefic link through the 12th lord rather than through Rahu.

Where the authorities disagree

  • On the nodes as a pair: the Bhrigu Sutras give one sutra; Phaldeepika and Chamatkar Chintamani give separate lines, and Chamatkar Chintamani reads the two nodes in the 12th very differently.
  • On the house itself: BPHS names expense, enemies' history and death; Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara's list adds emancipation; Chatterjee calls it the house of new environment.
  • On travel: Jataka Chintamani, through Chatterjee, attaches going abroad to Rahu in the 12th; BPHS Ch. 23 reads distance from malefics on the house and its lord as wandering, and from benefics as staying home.
  • On signs and aspects: BPHS, Uttara Kalamrita, Sanketnidhi and Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara give different own, exaltation and debilitation signs, and Jyotisha Siddhanta Sara gives Rahu the 3rd and 10th aspects.
  • On the Dasha: BPHS Ch. 47 reads trouble; Chatterjee's p. 127 case reads a period without significant events.

Checking Rahu in your own 12th house

  1. Cast the chart in the birth chart calculator with an exact time and confirm Rahu's house.
  2. List grahas joined with Rahu, then those aspecting it. By the agent rule the first is what Rahu mostly delivers; a benefic in either list is the release in BPHS Ch. 44.
  3. Find the 12th lord, Rahu's dispositor, and read it by Ch. 23 Sl. 1-6 and Ch. 48 Sl. 14-17: with a benefic, in its own sign or exalted, in the 6th or 8th, or associated with a trikona lord.
  4. For the travel slokas, check both halves: malefics or benefics with the house and the lord, and which kind the lord exchanges aspects with. For Chatterjee's rule 2, list the planets in the 3rd.
  5. Count Rahu from the Moon as well; the 3rd, 6th or 11th from the Moon is Chatterjee's second count.
  6. Note Rahu's degree for the reversed Ch. 47 Sl. 3-4 timing, then read the dates and the sub-period table.
Is Rahu in the 12th house bad?
The books lean that way: Phaldeepika reads wasteful spending, Chamatkar Chintamani poverty and failed undertakings, BPHS a troubled Dasha. BPHS Ch. 44 lifts the Dasha difficulties if a benefic joins or aspects Rahu, and Uttara Kalamrita turns a node auspicious when it is conjoined with a kendra or kona lord.
Does Rahu in the 12th mean settling abroad?
Chatterjee quotes Jataka Chintamani for going abroad with Rahu in the 1st, 7th or 12th. BPHS Ch. 23 reads wandering between countries from malefics on the 12th and its lord, and staying in one's own country from benefics. Neither predicts settlement.
Is the Bhrigu sutra for Rahu in the 12th different from Ketu's?
No. The Bhrigu Sutras give one block, "Rahu or Ketu in the Twelfth House", for both nodes. Only the quoted Phaldeepika and Chamatkar Chintamani lines are separate.
Why does the app say challenging for the Rahu Mahadasha?
Its quality label marks any Dasha lord in the 6th, 8th or 12th as challenging. For the 12th that agrees with BPHS Ch. 47; the benefic release in Ch. 44 is not coded.
Does the 12th mean moksha for Rahu?
BPHS Ch. 23 Sl. 10 gives emancipation only for a benefic in the 12th with a strong, well-associated lord. It is not about Rahu, and the app does not apply it.
What does Saravali say about Rahu in the 12th?
Nothing. Saravali Ch. 30 has no verse for either node in any house. Its Ch. 12 names Rahu in the 3rd, 6th or 11th, or rising in Aries, Taurus or Cancer, as cancelling evils at birth; the 12th is not in it.
What does Ketu in the 6th add?
It is always opposite and aspects the 12th. See Ketu in the 6th house.
How does the 12th compare with the 8th?
BPHS Ch. 47 Sl. 40-43 and most of the sub-period chapters name them together. See Rahu in the 8th house.
