This page applies this app's marriage muhurat rules to one month, November 2026. The engine behind the Muhurat calculator and the Muhurat feature scores three 90-minute windows a day, at 06:40, 09:15 and 15:30 IST, so November has 90. Of those, 35 have the Moon in a nakshatra the engine favours for marriage, 22 overlap Rahu Kaal, and 4 pass all five general rules.
Marriage windows in November 2026 that pass every general rule
| Date | Window (IST) | Moon nakshatra | Tithi, paksha |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wednesday 11 November 2026 | 6:40 AM to 8:10 AM | Anuradha | 2, Shukla |
| Wednesday 11 November 2026 | 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM | Anuradha | 2, Shukla |
| Thursday 12 November 2026 | 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM | Mula | 3, Shukla |
| Friday 20 November 2026 | 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM | Uttara Bhadrapada | 11, Shukla |
The two windows on 11 November are separate samples; nothing is scored between 8:10 AM and 9:15 AM. Another 28 windows miss by exactly one factor:
| The one factor that fails | Windows in November 2026 (IST) |
|---|---|
| Dark half (Krishna paksha): 12 | 5 Nov, all three; 6 Nov, 6:40 AM and 3:30 PM; 25 Nov, all three; 26 Nov, all three; 30 Nov, 3:30 PM |
| Nakshatra not on the list: 9 | 9 Nov, 3:30 PM; 11 Nov, 3:30 PM; 12 Nov, 6:40 and 9:15 AM; 16 Nov, 9:15 AM and 3:30 PM; 19 Nov, 9:15 AM and 3:30 PM; 20 Nov, 6:40 AM |
| Weekday not on the list: 4 | 15 Nov, 6:40 and 9:15 AM; 21 Nov, 6:40 AM and 3:30 PM |
| Tithi on the avoided list: 2 | 13 Nov, 6:40 AM and 3:30 PM (tithi 4) |
| Overlaps Rahu Kaal: 1 | 20 Nov, 9:15 AM |
How the days are chosen: the five general rules
Five factors, the same for every reader, make up the filter: the Moon's nakshatra, tithi and paksha at the start of the window, Rahu Kaal and the weekday.
| Rule | Favourable for marriage in this engine | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Moon nakshatra | Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada or Revati | The engine's list; no text in the library holds it. |
| Tithi | Not the 4th, 8th, 9th or 14th tithi of either half (the engine counts 1 to 30: 4, 8, 9, 14 in the bright half, 19, 23, 24, 29 in the dark half) | The engine's list. Its comment calls 4, 9 and 14 (and 19, 24, 29) the Rikta tithis and 8 and 23 Ashtami, and says no source book lists tithis to avoid. BPHS Ch. 89 Sl. 1-7 asks for a day without Rikta-Bhadra Dosha but does not say which tithis are Rikta. |
| Paksha | Shukla, the waxing Moon | BPHS Ch. 3 Sl. 11 and Saravali Ch. 4 Sl. 9 call the waning Moon a malefic; Saravali Ch. 4 Sl. 36 has benefics strong in the bright half. Reading that as good for a new beginning is the engine's step. |
| Weekday | Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday | The engine's list; no citation. |
| Rahu Kaal | The window does not overlap it | The engine's weekday table, after Drik Panchang as its comment records. No text in the library mentions Rahu Kaal. |
A window "passes every rule" when all five are favourable. That counts factors on the engine's lists; it is not the engine's score, and not a classical ruling. BPHS Ch. 89 Sl. 1-7, the one passage that sets general conditions for a muhurta, is written for a different rite and names no tithi or nakshatra. Two personal factors, the Moon's house counted from your ascendant and your Personal Day number, are added only in the calculator and the in-app feature; its marriage house list cites no book either.
What the texts name for weddings that this filter does not test
Two classical rules name marriage and are not in the engine. BPHS Ch. 70 Sl. 19-20 says functions like marriage should not be held in a month when the Sun, or a year when Jupiter, transits a rashi with many dots in its own Ashtakavarga, and should be held when the rashi has many rekhas. Sl. 21-23 applies the same test to the Moon, and Ch. 72 Sl. 30-31 makes a rashi's Ashtakavarga total the main check. The lines do not say whose chart supplies the counts, so this page does not guess. The Ashtakavarga calculator counts the favourable marks, which this BPHS translation calls Rekhas, as bindus.
The other is gandanta. BPHS Ch. 92 Sl. 1 reads birth, travel and auspicious functions such as marriage at a junction of tithis, nakshatras or lagnas as inauspicious; this site does not repeat the outcome it names. Sl. 2 puts tithi junctions at the last two ghatikas of tithis 5, 10, 15 and the first two of 1, 6, 11, which this page reads within each half (engine count: 20, 25, 30 and 16, 21, 26). Sl. 3 puts the nakshatra junctions between Revati and Ashwini, Ashlesha and Magha, Jyeshtha and Mula. A ghati is 24 minutes (Ch. 5 Sl. 6-8), so two is 48. The engine tests none of this, though Magha, Mula and Revati are on its marriage list.
Applied to the four windows: on 12 November the Moon passes from Jyeshtha into Mula at 14:20 IST, so Mula's first two ghatikas run to about 15:08, and the 3:30 PM window opens 22 minutes after that span ends. Sl. 5 names a wider span at this junction, Abhukta Mula (the last six ghatikas of Jyeshtha and the first eight of Mula); on 12 November that runs from about 11:56 to 17:32 IST, which covers the 3:30 PM window. A panchang computed for your city can place the change some minutes differently, which is worth checking for a window this close. On 20 November tithi 11 begins at 07:18 IST, so its first two ghatikas end at about 08:06, more than seven hours before the 3:30 PM window. The 11 November windows (Anuradha, tithi 2) are at neither kind of junction, and none of the four windows changes nakshatra or tithi inside its 90 minutes.
Worked example: the same month ranked for one reference chart
With the two personal factors added, this app's engine ranks the month for a fixed reference chart (1985-01-01 06:00 IST, New Delhi, 28.6139 N, 77.2090 E). These five are that chart's alone. The engine calls each Excellent.
| Score | Window (IST) | The engine's reasons, shortened |
|---|---|---|
| 83 | Saturday 21 November, 6:40 AM | Uttara Bhadrapada; Moon in 5th house; Shukla; Personal Day 8 |
| 82 | Saturday 21 November, 3:30 PM | Revati; Moon in 5th house; Shukla; Personal Day 8 |
| 81 | Wednesday 11 November, 9:15 AM | Anuradha; Moon in 1st house; Shukla |
| 81 | Wednesday 11 November, 6:40 AM | Anuradha; Moon in 1st house; Shukla |
| 80 | Friday 20 November, 3:30 PM | Uttara Bhadrapada; Moon in 5th house; Shukla |
Three pass every rule. The two Saturday windows fail only the weekday rule, yet lead this chart's list: the Moon is in this chart's 5th house, as it is on 20 November, and only the Saturday windows add the chart's Personal Day 8. The 12 November window that passes every rule does not reach the top five. The filter and the score answer different questions.
Limits: what these windows cannot tell you
- They are not a verdict on any couple. A wedding involves two charts; the Kundli matching calculator compares them, and this page does not.
- Three windows a day is a sample: a nakshatra or tithi can change inside the 90 minutes. The panchang and Choghadiya calculators divide the whole day.
- Times are IST and Rahu Kaal sits on a fixed 06:00 to 18:00 grid, so a sunrise-based panchang can differ; the Rahu Kaal calculator works from a place.
- No window, whether it passes every rule or not, is a promise about a marriage. For your own chart the Muhurat calculator adds the personal factors, and the December 2026 page applies the same rules to December 2026.
- Why is Saturday 21 November the reference chart's top window but not among the windows that pass every rule?
- Saturday is not on the engine's marriage weekday list. The reference chart's personal factors lift those windows above the four that pass every rule, for that chart only.
- Why does no window from 21 to 30 November pass every rule?
- Two of the three Saturday 21 November windows fail only the weekday rule; the 9:15 AM window also overlaps Rahu Kaal. Every window on 22 to 24 November fails more than one. From 25 November the Moon is in the dark half; the near-miss table lists the windows that fail only that rule.
- Does a window that passes every rule guarantee a good marriage?
- No. It only means five factors are on the favourable side of this app's lists. This app does not forecast how a marriage will go from a date.
- Does this list match my family's or a printed panchang's?
- It may not. The engine's lists cite no text. Compare with a printed panchang for your city and follow your own tradition where it differs.

What it needs
Date, time and place + What the muhurat is for
That is more than this article asks for - it only ever takes a date, and sometimes a time, and never a name or a birth place. So this one runs on its own page, which asks for exactly what it needs and stores none of it.
