In short

None of the 93 windows this app samples in December 2026 passes every general new-job rule. Twenty-nine miss by exactly one factor, 17 of them only the nakshatra list, and one of those, 9:15 AM IST on Monday 14 December, is read two minutes after the Moon leaves a listed nakshatra. This is a filter on five general factors, not a score and not a promise.

This page applies this app's new-job muhurat rules to December 2026. The engine behind the Muhurat calculator and the Muhurat feature scores three 90-minute windows a day, at 06:40, 09:15 and 15:30 IST, so December has 93. Of those, 33 have a nakshatra the engine lists for a new job and 21 overlap Rahu Kaal, but none passes every general rule at once.

Why none passes: 11 windows have the waxing Moon and a listed nakshatra, and each misses another rule.

DateMoon nakshatraWhat else each window misses
Saturday 12 DecemberUttara Ashadha6:40 AM: weekday. 9:15 AM: weekday and Rahu Kaal. 3:30 PM: weekday and tithi (Shukla 4).
Sunday 13 DecemberShravanaAll three: weekday and tithi (Shukla 4); 3:30 PM also Rahu Kaal.
Monday 14 December, 6:40 AMShravanaRahu Kaal only.
Sunday 20 December, 6:40 and 9:15 AMAshwiniWeekday only.
Tuesday 22 December, 3:30 PMRohiniWeekday, tithi (Shukla 14) and Rahu Kaal.
Wednesday 23 December, 6:40 AMRohiniTithi only (Shukla 14).

One near miss sits on an edge: the 9:15 AM window on Monday 14 December misses only the nakshatra rule. The engine reads the Moon in Dhanishta, which is not on the list; it left Shravana, which is, at 09:13 IST, two minutes earlier. A panchang computed for your city can place that change some minutes differently, worth checking for a window this close.

How the days are chosen: the five general factors

A window "passes every rule" when all five are favourable: the Moon's nakshatra, tithi and paksha at the window's start, Rahu Kaal and the weekday. That counts factors on the engine's lists; it is neither the engine's score nor a ruling from any text.

RuleOn the list for a new job in this engineWhere it comes from
Moon nakshatraAshwini, Rohini, Pushya, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Anuradha, Shravana or Uttara AshadhaThe engine's list; no text in the library holds it.
TithiNot the 4th, 8th, 9th or 14th tithi of either half (the engine counts 1 to 30: 4, 8, 9, 14 in the bright half, 19, 23, 24, 29 in the dark half)The engine's list. Its comment calls 4, 9, 14 (and 19, 24, 29) Rikta and 8 and 23 Ashtami and says no source book lists tithis to avoid. BPHS Ch. 89 Sl. 1-7, written for a different rite, asks for a day without Rikta-Bhadra Dosha but does not say which tithis are Rikta.
PakshaShukla, the waxing MoonBPHS Ch. 3 Sl. 11 and Saravali Ch. 4 Sl. 9 call the waning Moon a malefic; Saravali Ch. 4 Sl. 36 has benefics strong in the bright half. Reading that as good for a beginning is the engine's step.
WeekdayMonday, Wednesday, Thursday or FridayThe engine's list; no citation.
Rahu KaalThe window does not overlap itThe engine's weekday table, after Drik Panchang as its comment records. No text in the library mentions Rahu Kaal.
The engine's lists, read from its code.

Two personal factors, the Moon's house from your ascendant (or Moon sign) and your Personal Day number, are added only in the calculator and the in-app feature. The engine's new-job house list (1, 2, 6, 10, 11) cites no book and counts the 6th as supportive: the engine penalises a Moon in the 6th, 8th or 12th but checks the supportive list first.

What the texts say about starting a job, and the junction check

A search of BPHS, Saravali, Daivajna Vallabha, the Bhrigu Sutras and Advanced Predictive Astrology found no muhurat rule, and no list of nakshatras, tithis or weekdays, for starting a job. Saravali Ch. 7 Sl. 5-6 comes nearest and works chart by chart: an enterprise of a bhava does better on the weekday, hora, month or year of that bhava's lord.

The other text is gandanta. BPHS Ch. 92 Sl. 1 reads birth, travel and auspicious functions such as marriage at a junction of tithis, nakshatras or lagnas as inauspicious; this site does not repeat the outcome it names. A job is not among its examples, so the check below is a fact about the windows, not a rule for one. Sl. 2 puts the tithi junctions at the last two ghatikas of tithis 5, 10 and 15 and the first two of tithis 1, 6 and 11; this page reads those numbers within each half of the month (20, 25, 30 and 16, 21, 26 in the engine's 1-30 count). Sl. 3 puts the nakshatra junctions between Revati and Ashwini, Ashlesha and Magha, Jyeshtha and Mula. A ghati is 24 minutes (Ch. 5 Sl. 6-8), so two is 48. The engine tests none of this.

On the engine's change times, 26 of the 29 near misses keep one nakshatra and one tithi throughout. Two overlap a 48-minute span, 9 December 6:40 AM (the first 48 minutes of Shukla 1, to 7:12 AM) and 24 December 6:40 AM (Shukla 15 and Krishna 1, 6:13 to 7:49 AM); both miss only the nakshatra rule. The Moon crosses the Jyeshtha-Mula junction at 21:02 IST on 9 December, and Sl. 5 names a wider span at this junction, Abhukta Mula (the last six ghatikas of Jyeshtha and the first eight of Mula); it runs from about 18:38 IST on 9 December to 00:14 on 10 December. No listed window falls inside it: the last 9 December window ends at 5:00 PM.

Worked example: the same month ranked for one reference chart

With the two personal factors added, the engine ranks the month for a fixed reference chart (1985-01-01 06:00 IST, New Delhi, 28.6139 N, 77.2090 E). These five are that chart's alone.

79Thursday 3 December, 6:40 AMSame as the row aboveDark half
One reference chart, ranked by the engine.

All five miss exactly one rule: three the weekday, two the dark half. The top three are alike in kind: a listed nakshatra, a listed house (the 6th or the 2nd), a supportive Personal Day and the waxing Moon. So the 6th-house line is not what puts the Sunday windows first: the 2nd and the 6th are both on the list, and the engine orders otherwise alike windows by how far the Moon has moved through its nakshatra.

Limits: what these windows cannot tell you

  • A joining date is usually set by an employer, and the calculator does not ask which event you mean: offer, notice or first day.
  • Three windows a day is a sample: 13 of December's 93 change nakshatra or tithi inside their 90 minutes. Times are IST on a fixed 06:00 to 18:00 Rahu Kaal grid, so a sunrise-based panchang can differ; the panchang, Choghadiya and Rahu Kaal calculators cover the whole day or a place.
  • No window, whether it passes every rule or not, is a promise about a job. The Muhurat calculator takes your birth date, time, place and one activity and returns the top three windows of the 30 days from the day you use it. See also November 2026 and January 2027.
Why does no window in December 2026 pass every rule?
Only 11 windows have the waxing Moon and a listed nakshatra, and each also misses the weekday, tithi or Rahu Kaal rule. All others miss the nakshatra or paksha rule.
Is a window that misses one rule good enough?
This page does not rank the rules against each other. Whether a missed weekday or Rahu Kaal overlap matters is for your own tradition.
Would a window that passed every rule guarantee a good job?
No. It would only mean five factors are on the favourable side of this app's lists, not a forecast.
My joining date is already fixed. What then?
Keep it. This page reports which general rules each sampled window meets; it does not suggest delaying a start.

What it needs

Date, time and place + What the muhurat is for

That is more than this article asks for - it only ever takes a date, and sometimes a time, and never a name or a birth place. So this one runs on its own page, which asks for exactly what it needs and stores none of it.
