In short
In this app a 6 is in harmony with 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8, and that row sets the match label. One book calls the 6 the most compatible of numbers; another gives it four enemies, including the 3 that the same book recommends as its marriage pair. The app shows every table under its source and draws no verdict.
A Mulank 6 is anyone born on the 6th, 15th or 24th of a month. This app gives the 6 Venus as its ruler and the title "The Nurturer". Whether a 6 "goes with" another number depends on which printed table is asked, and this app keeps five. For the number itself, see Number 6 in numerology; for the two birth numbers compared, the glossary entries for Mulank and Bhagyank.
How number 6 compatibility is worked out
numerologyMatch() in the compatibility engine sets the label. The 6's harmony row is 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8, one of the two five-number rows in the table (the other is the 5's). All five list the 6 back.
- Mulank lookup: is the partner's Mulank 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8?
- Bhagyank lookup: is the partner's Bhagyank in the row of the 6's own Bhagyank? A master Bhagyank is read at its root (11 as 2, 22 as 4, 33 as 6) for this step only.
- Two matches: "Strong". One: "Workable". None: "Needs effort". The note beside the label follows the Mulank lookup.
In the Numerology Profile, the same row gives a Mulank 6 five favourable numbers and seventeen favourable dates (2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26, 29 and 31), and the letters F, O and X, whose value is 6 in this app's letter table. The label is shown in the numerology panel of the match tool and the Love Compatibility calculator.
Number 6 against all nine numbers
The logged-in compatibility feature adds four book readings. Both directions are shown where a book is one-way.
| Partner | App harmony | AVN friend / enemy (6 to it / it to 6) | AVN anti-combination | Graha friendship (6 to it / it to 6) | Life Path marriage (6 to it / it to 6) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | No | Enemy | - | Friendly | Unlisted / compatible |
| 2 | Yes | Enemy | - | Neutral | Compatible |
| 3 | No | Enemy | Anti pair: good | Non-friendly | Compatible |
| 4 | Yes | Friend | - | Friendly | Unlisted |
| 5 | Yes | Friend | - | Friendly | Challenging / unlisted |
| 6 | Yes | Neutral | Same number: avoid | Friendly | Unlisted |
| 7 | No | Neutral / friend | - | Friendly | Challenging |
| 8 | Yes | Friend | - | Neutral / friendly | Unlisted |
| 9 | No | Enemy | - | Neutral | Compatible |
The 4 is the only partner that is good or unlisted in every table. The 8 is close behind. The 3 and the 9 are the sharpest splits. The 3 is the 6's recommended anti pair and compatible both ways on the Life Path list, yet an enemy in Advanced Vedic Numerology and non-friendly on the planetary slide. The 9 is compatible both ways on the Life Path list and named by Metaphysical Secrets, yet an enemy in Advanced Vedic Numerology and absent from the harmony row.
What the books say about pairing a 6
- Advanced Vedic Numerology, "Number Compatibility" (p.37): friends 4, 5 and 8; neutral 7; enemies 1, 2, 3 and 9. Four enemies is the most any number has in that table, a total the 6 shares with the 2 and the 9. The book is one-way for the 7: the 6 calls it neutral, the 7 calls the 6 a friend.
- Its "Marriage Compatibility" page (p.103) pairs 6 with 3 in the Pure Anti table, from both sides, and calls such a pair good. So the one book names the 3 as an enemy of the 6 on p.37 and as its marriage pair on p.103.
- Vedic Numerology Basic, "Compatibility of Numbers": Venus counts 1, 5, 7, 6 and 4 as friendly, 8, 9 and 2 as neutral, and Jupiter, the 3, as non-friendly. Jupiter's own row returns the compliment.
- Vedic Numerology Basic, Life Path 6 "The Nurturer": compatible with 2, 3 and 9; potential challenges with 5 and 7. The 1's entry lists 6 as compatible, but the 6's entry does not list the 1.
- Numerology: Metaphysical Secrets, Ch. 9: a Six is most compatible with 9, 8, 2 and 1, the only one of its lists with four names.
- Numerology Made Easy (William Mykian), Ch. 12, calls the 6 "the most" compatible of numbers, describing it as the number of balance, harmony and adjustment, in tune with most others. It is the only book here that ranks numbers this way.
The Destiny Number grid in Numerology Masters Notes (p.179), read on the Bhagyanks, grades a Destiny 6 A with 2, 3, 6, 9 and 33; B with 4 and 11; C with 1, 5, 7 and 8; and D with 22 alone. The A with 33 is worth noticing because 33 reduces to 6, and the master number 33 page explains where this app keeps it.
Worked example: a 6 January 1990 birth with three partners
- Person A, 6 January 1990: Mulank 6. Bhagyank 6 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 26, and 2 + 6 = 8. Row 8 of the harmony table is 2, 6, 7 and 8.
- Partner 1 January 1993: Mulank 1; Bhagyank 1 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 3 = 24, 2 + 4 = 6.
- Partner 2 January 1993: Mulank 2; Bhagyank 25, 2 + 5 = 7.
- Partner 7 January 1993: Mulank 7; Bhagyank 7 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 3 = 30, 3 + 0 = 3.
| Partner | Mulanks | Bhagyanks | Harmony label | AVN relation (6 to it) | Chinese grid (Bhagyanks) | Life Path marriage (Bhagyanks) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Jan 1993 | 6 and 1 | 8 and 6 | Workable (Bhagyank only) | Enemy | C, average | Unlisted |
| 2 Jan 1993 | 6 and 2 | 8 and 7 | Strong | Enemy | D, challenging | 7 lists 8 as a challenge |
| 7 Jan 1993 | 6 and 7 | 8 and 3 | Needs effort | Neutral | C, average | Unlisted |
The Strong pair is the instructive one. The Mulanks 6 and 2 are in each other's harmony rows and the Bhagyanks 8 and 7 are too, so the label is the best the rule can give. Advanced Vedic Numerology lists the 2 among the 6's enemies, the Destiny grid grades 8 with 7 a D, and the Life Path list has the 7 naming the 8 as a potential challenge. The 7 January partner, labelled "Needs effort", fares better by the planetary slide, where Venus and Ketu are friendly both ways.
Checking a pair yourself
Work out each person's Mulank from the day and Bhagyank from the whole date. Look the partner's Mulank up in row 6 and the partner's Bhagyank in the row of your Bhagyank to get the label. Then remember which number each book table reads: the friend / enemy table, the anti pair and the planetary slide read the Mulanks; the Destiny grid and the Life Path list read the Bhagyanks. For the person in the example, the Life Path list reads an 8, "The Powerhouse", not a 6.
How often a 6 gets each label
For the 6 January 1990 birth, the engine checked every partner date from 1 January 1985 to 31 December 1999, 5,478 in all: 1,323 Strong, 2,757 Workable and 1,398 Needs effort. On 2,973 of them the partner's Mulank was in row 6, a larger share than the four-number rows give, because the row holds five numbers. These counts belong to this birth date; another Mulank 6 with a different Bhagyank would get different ones.
What number compatibility cannot tell you
Each reading is a lookup of two digits in a printed table. For the 6, the tables contradict each other outright on seven of the nine partners, every one except the 4 and the 8. The app keeps each reading under its source and does not average them. For a chart-based reading, see the Kundli Matching calculator. Neighbouring pages: number 3 compatibility, number 5, number 7 and number 9; and Mulank, Bhagyank and Life Path for the inputs.
- Which numbers are compatible with 6 in this app?
- In the harmony table that sets the label: 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8. The book tables are shown beside the label and do not alter it.
- Is 6 really "the most compatible number"?
- That is Numerology Made Easy's claim (Ch. 12). Advanced Vedic Numerology gives the 6 four enemies, more than most numbers have. The two books use different methods, and neither is a measurement.
- Are 6 and 3 a good pair?
- Advanced Vedic Numerology recommends them as an anti pair for marriage (p.103) and also lists 3 as an enemy of 6 (p.37). Vedic Numerology Basic marks Venus and Jupiter non-friendly on its planetary slide but Life Path 6 and 3 compatible in its marriage section. The harmony table does not list 3 for a 6.
- My Bhagyank is 33. Am I a 6?
- For the harmony lookup, yes: 33 is read at its root, 6. The Destiny grid keeps 33 as its own row, and the Life Path list has no entry for it. Your Mulank is still the reduced day. The Life Path calculator shows both numbers.
- Does "Needs effort" mean we are incompatible?
- No. It reports that two lookups in one table found no match. The app makes no prediction about a relationship from it.

What it needs
Name and birth date
That is more than this article asks for - it only ever takes a date, and sometimes a time, and never a name or a birth place. So this one runs on its own page, which asks for exactly what it needs and stores none of it.
