Saturn and Jupiter change sign five times in 2027: Saturn crosses from Pisces into Aries and back, and Jupiter crosses three times. Rahu stays in Capricorn and Ketu, opposite it, in Cancer. Counted from a Leo Moon, Saturn's two signs are the 8th and 9th houses, Jupiter's are the 12th, 1st and 2nd, Rahu's is the 6th and Ketu's the 12th.
This page reports positions and the engine's rules for them; it does not say what 2027 will bring to anyone with a Leo Moon. A transit is read against the natal Moon sign (the Moon sign calculator finds it) in the method called Gochara, and the Gochar calculator applies the same rules to any birth date on any day. 2027 dates: every sign change and station
The first table lists the five ingresses and three stations of Saturn and Jupiter in 2027. A station is the day a graha turns retrograde or direct (see vakri). Rahu and Ketu change no sign in 2027. Jupiter turned retrograde on 13 December 2026, at 2.82 degrees of Leo, which is why it moves back into Cancer on 25 January.

In India (UTC+5:30) Saturn's station of 9 August (19:06 UTC) falls on 10 August at 00:36, and Jupiter's entry into Leo of 25 June (18:14 UTC) is within an hour of midnight, at 23:44 the same day; the other six dates are the same there. The engine gives each graha a verdict by its house alone, counting the Moon sign as the 1st. The second table lists every stay in force during 2027 with its true start and end, and the dignity the engine computes for the sign with no birth chart (friendly or enemy is the natural relation only).

In India Saturn's station of 26 July 2026 (20:11 UTC) falls on 27 July, Jupiter's entry into Leo of 30 October 2026 (23:53 UTC) on 31 October, the Rahu and Ketu stay starts (18:59 UTC on 5 December 2026) on 6 December and ends (21:57 UTC on 23 June 2028) on 24 June; Saturn's final exit from Pisces on 22 February 2028 (18:19 UTC, 23:49 there) is within an hour of midnight, on the same date; the 25 June and 9 August times are given above.
No stay raises the engine's "intensified" flag, which pairs Saturn with the 1st, Jupiter with the 3rd, Ketu with the 2nd and Rahu with the 9th, or matches the Tamil palm-leaf pairings of Saturn in the 1st and Jupiter in the 3rd in Advanced Predictive Astrology (Vol. II, p. 311). Each graha's passage is on Saturn transit for Leo Moon sign, Jupiter transit for Leo Moon sign and Rahu transit for Leo Moon sign.
What the texts add, and where the engine goes further
A search of BPHS and Saravali for "gochar" and "transit" finds no house-from-the-Moon rule for Saturn or Jupiter; both read transits through the Ashtakavarga (BPHS Ch. 66 Sl. 70-72 and Ch. 70 Sl. 43-44, Saravali Ch. 53 Sl. 1 and 9-10). The engine's Rahu and Ketu verdicts are its own rule, cited to Kannan (Ch. XXXI), which is not in the corpus. For Rahu, Advanced Predictive Astrology (Chatterjee, Vol. II, p. 318) gives one counted from the Moon: good in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th "from Moon, Sun or Ascendant", unfavourable over the Moon sign and in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 12th. Rahu in the 6th from a Leo Moon is good in the book and favourable in the engine. Advanced Predictive Astrology (Vol. II, p. 310) also lists Jupiter as good in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th from the Moon, which agrees with the engine on the 2nd (from 26 November) and has no 12th, where the engine reads Jupiter as testing. It lists Saturn as good in the 3rd, 6th and 11th (p. 311), with no Moon-counted line for the 9th.
Saravali Ch. 53 Sl. 9-10 qualifies its Ashtakavarga transit rule by the sign: benefic results predominate in exaltation, own or friendly signs, malefic ones in debilitation or an enemy's sign. BPHS Ch. 3 Sl. 49-50 puts Jupiter's exaltation in Cancer and Saturn's debilitation in Aries, so two stays fall in such signs: Jupiter in Cancer (25 January to 25 June) and Saturn in Aries (2 June to 21 October). Saravali Ch. 5 Sl. 14 adds a contrary view, held by some: a planet entering its exaltation sign in retrograde motion from the next sign, "for example Jupiter entering Cancer from Leo", gives no effect. Jupiter does exactly that on 25 January. The engine's Gochara verdict looks at the house only.
Ashtama Shani for a Leo Moon in 2027
The one Saturn phase that touches 2027 for a Leo Moon is Ashtama Shani, Saturn in the 8th sign from the Moon, whose cycle runs from 29 March 2025 to 22 February 2028 in this app's computation. In 2027 Saturn is in Pisces, the 8th, until 2 June; in Aries, the 9th, for 141 days to 21 October, a pause because the engine counts the 8th sign only; and in Pisces again to 22 February 2028 (23:49 in India, within an hour of midnight). The cycle is two stays, of 795 and 125 days: 920 days inside a span of 1,061 (whole days). No Sade Sati or Ardha Ashtama Shani touches the year. BPHS, Saravali and the Bhrigu Sutras do not name Ashtama Shani; Advanced Predictive Astrology (Vol. II, p. 313) does. What to take care of
Three grahas stand in testing houses in 2027: Saturn in the 8th from a Leo Moon until 2 June and from 21 October; Jupiter in the 12th from 25 January to 25 June and over the Moon sign, the 1st, until 25 January and from 25 June to 26 November; and Ketu in the 12th all year. Advanced Predictive Astrology (Vol. II, p. 313) names Saturn's passage through the 8th from the Moon Ashtama Sani and, giving Varahamihira's reading, says the native will be neglected by family and put to menial work and humiliated. The book's list goes on to graver events and to named people's lives; this page leaves those out, as this app does not forecast such events. The engine's sentence for the period is "a demanding transit for emotional and financial stability, traditionally read as a time to move carefully rather than take on new risk". Advanced Predictive Astrology (Vol. II, p. 310) says Jupiter over the Moon sign "is said to induct a sense of fear and anxiety", a reading of a transit and not a medical statement. The engine's notes for the 12th name no area; Ketu's reads "real caution and steadiness serve better than pushing forward here". In 2027 Advanced Predictive Astrology's Ashtama Sani and the engine's testing verdict for Saturn fall on the same days.
- Family: the reading names neglect by family, so keep regular time with the people close to you and talk a strain through before a major decision.
- Work and standing: it names menial work and humiliation, so keep agreed duties in writing, raise a disagreement early and calmly, and think a job change through before accepting it.
- Money: the engine's sentence names financial stability and new risk, so keep a reserve for the whole Ashtama Shani, to 22 February 2028, avoid large unsecured loans and read any contract twice.
- Mind: the engine's sentence also names emotional stability, and Jupiter is over the Moon sign until 25 January and from 25 June to 26 November. If you feel low for more than two weeks, talk to someone you trust or call Tele-MANAS 14416 (free, 24x7, India).
- Pace: with Ketu in the 12th all year, and Jupiter there from 25 January to 25 June, take a large plan in stages.
- Is Saturn's stay in Aries from 2 June inside the Ashtama Shani?
- No. The engine counts Saturn in the 8th sign only, and Aries is the 9th from a Leo Moon. The 141 days from 2 June to 21 October are a pause in the cycle; Saturn returns to the 8th on 21 October.
- Is 2027 a good or bad year for a Leo Moon?
- The engine and its sources give rules about positions, not verdicts on a year. Testing: Saturn in the 8th until 2 June and from 21 October; Jupiter over the Moon sign until 25 January and from 25 June to 26 November, and in the 12th between; Ketu in the 12th all year. Favourable: Rahu in the 6th all year and Jupiter in the 2nd from 26 November. What that means for one person depends on the whole chart and the running dasha.
- Why is Jupiter testing in Cancer when Cancer is its exaltation sign?
- Cancer is the 12th from a Leo Moon, and the engine gives the verdict by house: Jupiter in the 12th is testing even for a natural benefic, whatever the sign. BPHS Ch. 3 Sl. 49-50 makes Cancer Jupiter's exaltation sign.
- Do the book and the engine agree on Rahu in the 6th?
- Yes. Advanced Predictive Astrology (Chatterjee, Vol. II, p. 318) lists the 6th among Rahu's good houses from the Moon, and the engine reads it as favourable. Ketu in the 12th is the engine's rule alone.
